Kairat Mami informed the President on the outcomes of the courts in 2014.
Kazakhstan's President pointed out that today’s the justice system has new aims that have been identified at the VI Congress of Judges. Nursultan Nazarbayev noted that since 2015 the courts of the country operate under the new criminal legislation, based on strengthening safeguards for the protection of the rights and freedoms of the citizens.
The President also stressed the necessity of further improvement of the administration of justice, making it accessible to the wider population, improvement of the professionalism of the judiciary in Kazakhstan.
Kairat Mami said that the courts received more than 1.2 million applications and cases. He noted that the number of civil cases, amounted to about 450 thousand, indicates a growing confidence of Kazakhs in the judicial system.
Chairman of the Supreme Court also reported on the work on the introduction of the electronic proceedings. In addition, the comprehensive measures on strengthening the fight against corruption in the judiciary in eight directions have been taken. Increasing the transparency of the activities of the courts, introduction of the innovative technologies, strengthening the process of selecting judges, the coverage of regular sociological studies, and others are among them.
